Hi Saleem,
Thank you for resolving the credit issue.
The customer receives an email when their account is created and notified. However, the customer login page defaults to the admin login page. Hence, the customer is unable to login. Can you please help resolve this issue?
Kind regards

    Hello,

For v3, there customers are only for shop modules.

For v4, customer should be able to access the same admin area if no shop module with restricted access. This is not yet full tested. If you are talking about v4 beta, please wait as we will be checking and updating this part in the next update.

    Thank you

    Hi,
Thanks for the update. Since I purchased the Stock Manager Advance (Invoice & Inventory System), I have not completed any updates. I have seen updates coming through via email. Should I update each update I have received since last year or should I action the most recent update to v4 beta?
    Kind regards

Yes, it's recommended to update and use latest version. The v4 us still beta are are near to release RC. Once v4 (RC) released then you can start using the v4.

    Hi,
Thank you for the update. With version 3, I think I have seen updates come through since last year. Should I update each update I have received since last year or should I action the most recent one for version 3?
Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hello,

There is no much updates for v3 most of the updates are for v4. We will release v4 RC soon then you can start using v4. It will not import the v3 data but there will be option to import customers, suppliers and few other data. You can keep the v3 for reference as the sale, purchases can't be imported.

    Thank you

    Hi,
Thanks for the response. Once V4 is available, would I be able to use the existing database? The reason I ask is because my client has been live for sometime now and the purchase, sales records are all quite important. Hence when V4 becomes available, what is the best migration strategy for all the existing data including stock, purchases, sales, customers, suppliers, etc? Alternatively can the data for sales, purchases, stock, customers, suppliers, etc be imported using Excel similar to that in V3?
    Kind regards

    Hello,

No, bother versions are different database schema. V4 will require new database. As I told you that there will be option to import products, customer and supplier but there won't be any option to have old sales and purchases in v4. For this you can keep the v3 installation as it is and start new sale with v4.

    Thank you

    Hi,
Thank you for your response. Sorry for asking multiple questions. If you could please confirm the following I would be grateful.
    1. Is it possible to run both V3 and V4 in parallel?
    2. Would I have the option of upgrading the package by purchasing the SMA advanced with POS and shop front using V3 so that my client gets the customer login option? If so can it be integrated to the existing system?
My client's requirement is to have customer accounts for his business customers where they can log in and view what items for example have been purchased in a month.
    Kind regards

    Hello,

You can keep both installation for single license as you might need to refer to old sales/purchases too. If you are asking to have same database then no. Both requires different databases.

Only shop module can shows the customer orders in v3. Customers/Suppliers are allowed to login and view sales/purchases in v4.

    Thank you

    Hi Mian,
Thank you for clarifying all the questions that I asked so far in this thread. I have two further question please if I may.
    1. If I choose to carry on using V3, can I upgrade to all modules so that I can I have customers log in to view orders, see how much they have paid etc?
    2. Will V4 be available to me without extra charge?
    Kind regards
