When I make a return from a purchase or a return from a sale, it does not appear on the returns screen.
It only appears there if you log in from Returns. Is there a chance that I can see other returns there as well?

yes, if you attach return to sale/purchase then it will be listed in the sales/purchases. The returns menu will only show the open returns.
