I have settings correct for tax on sales (that is, computed on order total, not by line item.) This is working perfectly.
I am, however, exempt from paying tax on purchases from most suppliers. (Unfortunately, not all suppliers.)
The system calculates tax on all purchases from suppliers.
What I need is:
A setting in Suppliers to set what tax rate I have to pay on purchases from that supplier.
As I do not see such an option, I believe I will have to add some custom code; however,
I would like to request this feature be added in a future release.
Meanwhile, I will modify the code to suppress the tax calculation based on a custom field.
If I have missed something and there is already a method to handle this, please do let me know.
Thanks!

Hello,
No, there is no option to set the different tax automatically on purchase. You can only change it manually while adding the purchase.
I can’t promise but will check in future updates.
Thank you

I think, to change it manually while adding the purchase would require that my setup be different. I use:
Products -> Product Tax -> Disable
Sales -> Order Tax -> (sales tax item)
We do not calculate tax on individual items, nor do we sell untaxed items (ie, all products are taxed.) So setting tax at the order level is appropriate.
With these settings, there is no option to set/change tax during a Purchase.
Perhaps a future Settings section for Purchases -> Tax Exempt -> Yes|No? And for the No case, maybe also Purchases -> Tax Rate.
Until then, I think a code modification is my only option.
Thanks!

There is no option in settings. Can you please check the add purchase for order tax?
- SSAnswered
That option is not present in my add purchase.

Have you disabled
order tax
in system settings? - SSAnswered
No, as I require Order Tax on Sales.
I may or may not be required to pay tax on Purchases. Usually not, but sometimes I do have to pay tax on purchases.

What I am trying to say is the add purchase has order tax field that can be used to choose different tax per purchase. You can add a tax with 0 rate same as on demo. Thank you
- SSAnswered
And what I’m telling you is that there is no such field in my system - as shown in the screen capture I sent you.

Can you check it on demo? I hope, you have not modified the item? Please let me know your site and owner login details in private reply so that I can have look.
- SSAnswered
Demo is not using the same setup, so the function of the app is unrelated to my setup. App is not modified, other than selecting options in setup.
