The sales view files are in `themes/default/admin/views/sales/` (modal_view.php, view.php & pdf.php) while the pos views are in `themes/default/admin/views/pos/` (view.php & remote_printing.php)

The modification will be on code and there is no easy way to update after modifications.

Yes, you will need to manually update the modified file for each update.
