Hi, I desperately need to be able to set product quantity on product add/edit page.
My products are being made in house and I do not need to take the extra step to place purchase orders since I don’t need to pay for them.
I also don’t want to make quantity adjustments when I can simply set it the quantity during adding/editing of product.
You allow me to add quantity if I add variants of the product, so why not let me just set quantity there as well.
You conveniently had the quantity field in the Simple POS (and still do) but you left it out in the SMA+POS. Please help me either migrate it over or tell me what I can do? Or tell how much extra it would cost to make this happen. I knwo you don’t take on new jobs but this is the only thing I need to be able to work with this system. I like your system and everything else is suitable, i just need this one simple feature.

Hello Max Z,
Would you like to have a feature that I have implemented for a client, which can as well help you to achieve what you want?
It is an Opening Stock feature that enables you to import bulk product quantity via CSV.
It also enables you to add/sync quantity for an individual product at any point in time.
See attached screenshots. I can provide you with a live demo link to check it out.

The feature doesn’t have a negative effect on the system,
unlike the one you’re requesting for, being the reason it was removed. The logic kind of maintains a similar process of purchasing products, the major difference is that it automatically mark
purchase status
andpurchase payment status
asReceived
andPaid
.See attached screenshot.

Why would allowing the user to update/supply quantity when adding a product have a negative effect on the system? That is the only thing I cannot understand. Also, how much are your services? One of my biggest concerns is that having custom work done will endanger future updates or might break things. How much do you charge?

Max Z The Item Author has already responded. Please wait for future updates.

Max Z This feature has existed before on Stock Manager Advance, and there is a reason why it was removed, which I might not have the time to explain in details. In fact, I did remove it for my clients on my first use of the system long before the Item Author saw a reason to remove it too.
Trust me, if you’re looking for a system that will grow up to a full ERP system with Accounting module especially. Then adding quantities the way you currently want it, won’t be ideal for the system.
