The return from list sales page will lock the sale for any further updated. The return is not delete-able but you can delete main sale that will delete return sale too. This is the limitation for return from list sales. That's why we have added the open returns that can be access from left side bar menus. These open returns not be attached to any sale but will be recorded separately.
