You need to set the root path to public folder. Please create virtual host and set the correct root path as mention in the docs and the install should be able to call your server.

I am having this very same issue, can you explain what you mean by "create a virtual host". I searched my cPanel and I don't have an option for that.

Virtual host for local installation only. For live server, you can add host as you need.

You can add subdomain on cPanel with root path to public folder of your uploaded files. Please ask new question, if you have any concerns or don't understand any step of installation.
